10 Healthy American Desserts You Should Know

Every Latin American Nation has a distinct culinary tradition, These countries love desserts: this is, after all, where cane sugar comes from. Brazil is the world's leading producer of the stuff, and Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, and Peru have a long history of growing sugar cane along with the Pacific and Caribbean coastlines.

Each region's unique specialities reflect the area's history. Brazil's native fruit and coconut-laden sweets pop up in preparations influenced by Portuguese and African traditions. In Uruguay and Argentina, inspiration comes by way of Italy, and you can see gelato in each and every corner.     This is a great Brazilian sweet that is like a bonbon and extremely scrumptious and delicious. You can make it in the microwave too, just remember to stir every minute.

  • Pastelitos

    This is a delicious dessert having flaky puff pastry filled with sweet potato paste and formed into a flower/ pin wheel shape, then deep-fried in sunflower oil until golden brown. It’s finished off with sugary glaze, and topped with festive sprinkles.

  • Picarones

    Picarones are prepared by mixing camote with macre to form a silky puree combined with flour, sugar, yeast, and anise, formed into a round doughnut shape and deep-fried. These light and airy sweets are then drizzled in chancaca and served immediately.

  • Quesillo

    Jiggly egg and condensed milk friend is called Quesillo pronounced “ke see yo,”. This delicious creamy mouth-watering dessert topped with a thin caramel syrup for a touch more caramel flavor.

  • Helado
